The Symptoms of AIDS

AIDS is one of those diseases that have reached levels of total annihilation in some areas. As a disease that is not curable it will continue to spread and make certain that it claims as many lives as it can along the way. Only through certain medical circumstances do people survive AIDS making it one of the most efficient and preventable of all killers.

AIDS symptoms are not acute and sometimes they are completely non-existent in people who have been infected. This is why it has been so hard to contain this disease with any success. AIDS symptoms present in only eighty percent of the known infected population and many people have died without knowing what was wrong with them.

AIDS symptoms are very similar by nature to other less serious illnesses. In most cases the AIDS symptoms appear to be rather benign and therefore are thought to be nothing more than a simple cold or the flu. This is the first sign that the virus is taking hold and beginning to work in the body.

AIDS symptoms are also not specific enough to be able to determine their cause with any accuracy. Many people have presented with symptoms that appear completely different than anyone else. This is thought to be linked to the nature of the illness because of the fact that it is not a killer on its own.

What few people understand is the fact that people do not die from AIDS or AIDS symptoms. AIDS is a virus caused by HIV that allows the body to be attacked by any kind of infection or bacteria known. The reason for this is AIDS destroys the immune system to a point where the body can no longer fight off any kind of attacker. For most people that are infected with full blown AIDS something as simple as a common cold can be deadly if not properly treated. Eventually the body is no longer capable of fighting and the person dies as a result.

AIDS symptoms are not present in everyone and if you believe that you have been exposed you should seek medical attention right away.
